Centauro : A Modern Sanctuary with Mythical Roots
A Different Perspective on the Myth
The Centauro logo breaks away from the classic depictions of centaurs as powerful warriors. Instead, it depicts a feminine, carefree figure—a reference to Hyllonomé, one of the few female centaurs mentioned in mythology. Her story, filled with love, strength, and tragedy, served as the inspiration for Centauro’s identity.
Ylonome loved and was deeply loved by Kyllaros, a handsome and brave centaur. They lived together in harmony, roaming the hillsides and sharing every moment of their lives. However, fate had a tragic end in store for them in the battle between the Lapiths and the Centaurs, where Kyllaros was mortally wounded. Unable to bear life without him, Hyllonomé followed her beloved into death, thus symbolizing a love that was absolute, uncompromising, and beyond the bounds of time.
From Myth to a Contemporary Experience
Volos and Pelion, with their unparalleled natural beauty, continue to convey this magic through their landscapes, stories, and the sense of freedom they offer. Centauro, inspired by mythical tradition, offers a space where guests can enjoy their own experience of connecting with nature, tranquility, and an escape from everyday life.
Just as Ylonome and Kyllaros shared their wanderings through the mountains, so too does Centauro invite its guests to discover Volos, Pelion, and the wider region, and to live out their own story in an environment that exudes tranquility, natural beauty, and timeless romance.
